The Luksic Foundation announces the upcoming Blended Program in Circular Economy: Transition to Future Sustainability for Chile in collaboration with MIT Professional Education. The Foundation will sponsor 40 selected participants to take part in this program, designed to provide Chilean professionals with the essential knowledge to drive sustainable innovation and equip them with the practical skills to promote sustainability within their respective fields and across industries.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

1. Online Course

  • Title: Circular Economy: Transition towards the Future Sustainability of Chile.
  • Faculty: Prof. Olivier de Weck, Prof. John E. Fernández, and Dr. Afreen Siddiqi.
  • Duration: 9 weeks.
  • Hours of Effort: 74 hours.
  • Dates: July 09 – September 10, 2024.
  • Course Components: 9 Online modules, two faculty webinars, and weekly office hours with a learning facilitator. The 9 Online modules and the office hours will be delivered in Spanish. The two faculty webinars will be delivered in English with simultaneous translation to Spanish.

2. In-Person Event:

  • Faculty: Prof. John Fernandez
  • Duration: 2 days
  • Dates: In November 2024. To be confirmed.
  • Activities: Comprises four teaching sessions and debrief sessions tailored to the application of concepts across Chilean industries. The four teaching sessions with MIT Faculty will be delivered in English with simultaneous translation provided in Spanish.
  • Format & Schedule: The online course requires a weekly dedication of 8-10 hours, which includes both live sessions and asynchronous learning. The live sessions of the online course include a weekly tutorial with a learning facilitator and two live webinars with MIT Faculty. The live sessions are an opportunity to connect, share knowledge, and participate in discussions. Although not mandatory, they are highly recommended. However, all live sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the MIT Professional Education virtual campus 48 hours after the session, so participants who could not attend can access them. The course is designed to be compatible with any schedule. On the other hand, asynchronous learning includes practical activities, guided discussion forums, and additional resources such as videos and readings. Participants can access the MIT Professional Education virtual campus at any time, where they will find all course materials. It is important to note that the online course includes assignments that must be submitted within a specific deadline. Throughout the online course, participants will have academic assistance from the learning facilitator and technical support from the support team.

Participant Eligibility: The program is designed for 40 participants who meet the following criteria:

  • Chilean professionals or permanent residents in Chile.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven work experience.
  • Interest in sustainable practices, innovation opportunities, and societal betterment.

Participant Profile:

  • Professionals in marketing, sales, business development, market analysis, consultancy, policy, and entrepreneurship.
  • Public and private sector professionals aiming to mitigate environmental impact and adopt sustainable manufacturing methods.
  • Executives from various sectors, including finance, seeking to deepen their understanding of development and infrastructure engineering.
