*Important: The MSc in Circular Economy is currently under review and is not currently accepting applications for entry in 2025. The University of Edinburgh hopes to be able to offer a redeveloped Circular Economy program in 2026 to be listed on the University degree finder from October 2025.
The Luksic Scholarship at the Edinburgh Futures Institute of the University of Edinburgh has been established to support the development of skilled leaders in the areas of Circular Economy* and Data and Artificial Intelligence Ethics, aiming to equip professionals with the skills to be able to create change within their communities and professional environments.
The Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI) represents one of the most significant opportunities to contribute to the evolution of higher education in the 21st century. It is focused on tackling today’s increasingly complex issues by bringing people and disciplines together to spark the unexpected and make better futures possible.
A total of 3 Scholarships are available each year for Chilean candidates who are accepted into any of the following 1-year full-time Master’s programs at the Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh:
Program Duration: 1 year.
Program Location: Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.
Application Process (via the University of Edinburgh): Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are closed. To access the Luksic Scholarship, candidates must apply to the Master’s Program and then apply to the Luksic Scholarship.
Program Applicant Characteristics and Eligibility: Please refer to the University’s admissions website as their teams manage the admissions and selection processes for the MSc (Masters of Science) programs.
Scholarship Eligibility: Chilean citizens or Chilean permanent residents domiciled in Chile. Please note that applicants holding dual nationality with a nation that allows them to pay local fees would not meet the eligibility criteria. More information here.
Scholarship Coverage: The Luksic Scholarship is a comprehensive funding package that provides full tuition coverage and a stipend based on a cost of living analysis to cover living expenses for the entire program duration. It also includes a one-off payment once Scholars register for their classes at the University of Edinburgh to retroactively cover the costs involved in arriving and installing themselves in Edinburgh (i.e. flight costs, accommodation deposits, etc.). These scholarships are for full-time, on-campus study only. The scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit, however, the Institute will also consider whether the candidate can demonstrate some or all of the following:
