In 2017, Columbia launched a new project to apply cutting edge climate research to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal #2 (SDG2): \u201cEnd Hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture\u201d. That project, called \u201cAdapting Agriculture to Climate Today, for Tomorrow\u201d or ACToday, is working in six countries* to build capacities in the agriculture and health sectors and in meteorological agencies to identify how climate is undermining efforts to achieve SDG2, and jointly develop tools to help farmers and users along food value chains manage their climate risks. The project is led by the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) at Columbia University, and is implemented with partner government and international partners such as the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) and the World Food Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this event, held in the context of COP25, the team of ACToday and leaders of partner countries will address the steps they are taking to meet SDG2. Representatives from Chile\u2019s Ministry of Agriculture, CCAFS and WFP will also participate in the discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
