As Chile celebrates its national holidays this month, Professor<\/strong> Iv\u00e1n Jaksi\u0107<\/strong> is going to test our knowledge with interactive quizzes and Q&As about Chile\u2019s big day. Whether you\u2019re from Chile, China, the US, Croatia, or beyond, this is an event for all.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will present two sections: Chilean History and Chilean Culture<\/strong>. Each segment will start with an anonymous poll quiz followed by a narrative<\/strong> told by Professor Iv\u00e1n Jaksi\u0107 through which he\u2019ll reveal the answers. Each part will also be complemented by a mini Q&A<\/strong>. Don\u2019t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to learn about Chile, the home of our foundation, alongside other Luksic Scholars!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iv\u00e1n Jaksi\u0107 is Director of Stanford\u2019s Bing Overseas Studies Program in Santiago. Prior to Stanford, he held teaching and research positions at the University of California at Berkeley, Wisconsin, Oxford, Harvard, and Notre Dame. Jaksi\u0107 has written extensively on Andr\u00e9s Bello in such publications as Andr\u00e9s Bello: Scholarship and Nation-Building in Nineteenth-Century Latin America (Cambridge University Press, 2001). He is the General Editor of the four volumes of Historia pol\u00edtica de Chile, 1810-2010 (Fondo de Cultura Econ\u00f3mica). He is a member and Vice-Director of the National Academy of Language in Chile, and a corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Language in Spain. His most recent award is the National History Prize, granted every two years by the Chilean state.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
