The IMF has projected that the region\u2019s economy will shrink by 9.4 percent this year, by far the worst recession the region has ever faced. Panelists will identify the short- and long-term effects of Covid on the region\u2019s economies and discuss what kinds of medium- and long-term investments and policy changes will be necessary not only to recover but also to tackle such underlying challenges as informality and inequality that made Latin America the global epicenter of the crisis."}
