Global Progress Towards Developing a COVID-19 Vaccine

October 27, 11:00 - 12:00

Timezone: EST

Since the World Health Organization officially declared COVID-19 a global pandemic in March 2020, the worldwide priority of finding effective, scalable treatments that are safe and tested has been escalating. Researchers across the globe are working relentlessly to find a vaccine against SARS-CoV-2. Despite vaccination development typically taking years from conception to market availability, experts are attempting to fast-track the process for a successful COVID-19 vaccine candidate and multiple public-private partnerships are underway. There are currently several pathways in experimental clinical trials to prove the efficacy of vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics. This webinar brings together leading experts in virology and immunology to offer their perspectives on the global progress towards finding a cure. Panelists will discuss the vaccine’s development cycle, experimental clinical trials underway, as well as issues of global access to treatment and vaccines.
