Sciences Po International Teaching and Learning Workshop
“Integrating Pedagogical Diversity: Blended Learning and Educational Impact”
The aim of this workshop is to share thoughts and practices on teaching and learning approaches, focusing, for this second day of exchange, on blended learning. We will address the topic by debating its definition(s), and enlarging its common association with principally online resources to embrace all forms of teaching which combine multiple formats.
The following questions will be addressed: How can the combination of different teaching aids and approaches enhance a course or a programme? How can digital modules enrich in-class activities or content? How can specific skills be taught through different pedagogical approaches? How can innovative assessment techniques be successfully employed when evaluating more traditional course content? What are the challenges we face in order to make diversified teaching methodologies as effective and successful as possible in our teaching? What can be learnt from cognitive sciences in this regard? It is hoped that addressing these key questions will help us assess and better understand the impact of blended learning on university-level education.
Participants are invited to address these issues through 10-minute presentations, which will then subsequently be the subject of roundtable discussions. It is hoped this approach will result in developing shared, new approaches to teaching and learning, based on our own knowledge and experience of educational environments.
